a Wildfire in Washington state

On July 10, 2001 a historic fire took place in Chewuch River Valley, Washington which is 30 miles away from Okanogan National Fire. The fire was caused by a small campers fire and was recorded as the second deadliest fire in Washington state history. It was very wild and three crews were sent to put out the fire. It was a huge fire which was 25 acres in size when 21 forest service firefighters were sent to put the fire out. The firefighters had to do something to put out the fire because it was man created. The fire grew to 9,300 acres before it was put under control. It hurt a lot of wildlife and the forest but only 6 people were injured and 4 died from asphyxia. The wildfire hurt the environment and burned down a lot of trees. This was a very deadly fire that hurt a lot of wildlife and was recorded as one of the worst in Washington state history. Although, people were taken by surprise and not prepared for the fire, most people were able to evacuate.

This type of disaster will happen again in forests in Washington. It will happen in forests because trees catch on fire easily and the wind blows the fire around. The wildfire burned down many trees.
